Crusades:
A series of military expeditions from Christian
Europe to Palestine to  
capture Jerusalem.

Divine:
Like or from God; a god; holy

Excommunicate:
The act of banning someone from a church.

Feudalism:
The economical, political and
social system used in the 
Middle Ages, in which lords gave land to vassals in exchange for service and loyalty.

Infidels:
One who does not believe in a particular religion.

Keen:  
Eager; intense feelings

Pilgrimages:
A journey to a sacred place or shrine.

One who travels to a shrine or holy place as a religious act.

To rob or take by force
